Why one advisor won’t save your business and what you really need instead.
Hello, CEOs 👋
In this newsletter, you’ll discover:
● Why one advisor can’t deliver stable growth● The two brutal mistakes most tech companies make● What you really need for your company's growth, and how it works in practice
● Helped 60+ companies in 3 years: a great journey so far● Wiseboard restructured into the Growth Office Plugin for businesses● We closed our first annual transformation project, a 6-figure deal● +3 new advising projects: Organic Growth, Growth Office, and Delivery & Operation tracks● +3 new advisors joined. Our pool now totals 297 expert advisors.
Let’s get to it.
Here’s the pattern I keep seeing:
A tech company wants to grow fast → they don’t know how → they hire a consultant or an ad-hoc advisor → they get excited waiting…
But nothing really changes.
In the worst-case scenario, it ends like this:
This is a classical consultant trap. Tech companies keep buying advice instead of growth.
One Reddit reply to this desperate founder caught my attention:
There’s truth in that. You can’t blame the consultant for the job YOU had to do with their help. But I believe the problem of zero results goes much deeper.
After working with 60+ businesses, I can highlight two common issues:
1. No one inside owns the execution
One advisor will not save your business. Period. Yes, they can point out problems, but they can’t:
● rebuild integrations (engineering),● fix your sales engine (delivery),● or sharpen your positioning (CEO-level decision).
2. No one sees the full picture
If there’s no single person accountable for the entire system (funnel, business model, strategy), your company is burning money. Endless initiatives, no synergy, wasted budgets.
Both mistakes have the same root cause: there’s no system in place. Fixes are rather random and reactive. You can hire a brilliant consultant, but if you can’t execute or only fix one area when 4–5 are broken, your business won’t move.
So, is consulting worthless?
Not at all. But the old way of consulting is. Integrating one person into random areas won’t solve anything.
Tech companies crave growth, but instead of building systems, they gamble on quick fixes. As a result, execution falters because no one truly owns it, and every previous effort loses its value.
The solution: Growth Officer
What companies need isn’t another advisor. They need a growth officer.
Someone who:● Sees the full picture (strategy + processes + channels),● Has the authority to stop/start initiatives,● Doesn’t just give advice but executes or brings in the right people.
That’s why we launched the Growth Office.
It’s a model built on 3+ years of practice, 100+ companies advised, and dozens of growth strategies tested in the field.
Instead of hiring a full-time growth manager, you get me as your fractional Growth Officer, leading your growth from the inside, backed by a network of 300+ vetted professionals.
We’ll define your 12-month and mid-term growth goals together. Then I’ll bring in the right mix of advisors, only those who’ve solved challenges like yours.
You’ll pay a monthly retainer to cover coordination costs (no profit for me or the team). We all earn only when your goals are achieved. Wiseboard takes a % of the growth delta.
We only succeed when you do.
Here’s how Growth Office works:● Set goals → Define your 1-year growth goals and KPIs with me.● Build the team → I assemble your Growth Board and pick a Chief Board Advisor.● Bring experts → We bring in specialists and manage your transformation.● See results → You see results. We stay accountable until your KPIs are achieved.
Growth Office Onboarding Journey
This is how growth roles finally make sense:● I take responsibility for hitting KPIs.● Experts lead in their specific domains.● Your team executes with clarity and guidance.
Everyone’s work is visible and tracked, no more blind hope.
Most companies get disappointed with consultants because they bet too much on one person.
The Growth Office fixes that by giving you access to an entire network of experts led personally by me. You won’t have to guess the next move or depend on one person to solve everything. We plan and execute every step together.
